Proverbs 9:10-11
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
For by me your days will be multiplied,
and years will be added to your life. (ESV)

This one I’ve always had problems with – wisdom. I never feel quite wise enough….I always feel like I’m failing God. But if you’re like me and think about it too much about it, you can get overwhelmed. Which is not what God wants. He just wants you to put Him center of your life.

Putting God first in center of everything in your life makes all of your decision making just fall into place. Why? Because you are already seeking Him out. Then the rest will fall into place: Are you making the right decisions? Are you seeking out God before you make those decisions?

John 1:1-5

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

I’ve always loved these verses. How could you not? In the beginning was the Word – and for those who do not not know the WORD here refers to God (if you click the link, scroll half way down to the commentary on this part of the verse).

Back to what is was saying, in the beginning there was God. How awesome is that. He’s always been there…and he will always be there for you. Dont believe anything else.

Hold on to this friends, He will deliver you and hold you. He will always be there for you why? Because he always has been.

Luke 2:14

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men!”

I’ve recently gone through some family issues….its rocked my world. On my other blog I described it as having the carpet pulled from under my feet to let me fall onto the hard concrete floor that is my now life.

It’s made me look back and rethink things in my life, but it’s never made me doubt God. It’s made me wonder….how could I not know. How could anyone not know. But never doubt God.

God has a reason for what my family and I are going through and for what you are going through too. But never doubt God. He has our best in mind though we cannot see it now, though the darkness may seem to overtake you, take courage my friend God is there working on your behalf, to better your life. He really does mean “…goodwill toward men”

Psalm 56:3-4 (NKJV)

Whenever I am afraid,
I will trust in You.
In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me?

I was away at college when my roommate moved out of our dorm room. I was fine until it happened. The worst thing possible – the largest spider I have ever seen in my life crawled out of no where. I freaked out. Tears, panic attack, everything. Did I mention I am severely terrified spiders? (I dont know how to spell the other word) I went to the RA, city girl crying to the farm girl about a wood spider. Yeah that went over well. Afterwards, she calmed me down and walked me to my room.

To which of course I looked at her like she was ten shades of crazy. If my roommate was there, that would be one thing. The spiders babies (because of course it had babies) would attack her and not me. Yes, I was so loving in college.

But she taught me this song based on these verses and I was able to walk into my room and fall asleep.

When I am afraid,

I will trust in you

I will trust in you

I will trust in you

When I am afraid, I will trust in you

In God whose word I trust.

In God I trust. When I am afraid.

In God I trust, in God whose word I trust.

When I am afraid I will trust in you

I will trust in you

I will trust in you

When I am afraid I will trust in you

In God whose word I trust.

I would add video but that is one video you do not want to see….me singing. Just add the tune you want. Make it your song. May it bring you comfort as it did me. Trust in God, in whose word we trust.

A gift of God

A gift of God. During this holiday season it’s easy to forget that salvation is a gift. It’s so easy so say: “I deserve heaven” and have a heart of coal.

Let us not forget who laid down his life for you. Salvation, going to heaven is not a mere – “I’m going because I’m a good person”. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NKJV) says “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Sorry.

It’s a gift that we need to ask from God and He will give it to us freely. Why? Because He loves us. With a deep everlasting love.

Thank you

It’s so easy to take what is happening in our life for granted. The blessings and the trials. We can take them as. If we deserve them or not but we shouldn’t.

We need to be careful and come with a thankful heart. God has put these situations in our lives to bless us or to teach us. We need to remember that through Christ we get everything. Without out him we are nothing.
