That’s not what I intend because, like 1 Thess says
1Th 5:20-21 Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. (ESV)
Test everything. Even what I say …. especially what I say.
Anyways, during the end times the Bible speaks of false prophets. In each letter from Paul, well,i should really say most – as I’m only on the second letter from him (see test everything!); He goes on to warn of false prophets.
Gal 1:7-9 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again:If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
It got me to thinking what a false prophet is. Matt 7:15-19 talks of seeing a prophet by their fruit. But what fruitare they stopped to have? Right? Fair question w a simple answer. The fruits of the spirit.
Now for those of us who don’t know each super star “prophet” personally, and can’t tell what fruits of the spirit they really have – try testing.
Testing what the pastor is preaching is very important. Don’t just believe blindly what is being taught to you. No one and I mean no one is perfect. Someone will get something wrong.
One time I attended a church where the pastor admitted to the congregation that he hated praying, that the bible was his thing and then proceeded to preach from the wrong chapter. I spent the whole time wondering where he was getting his information from; I looked at everyone else. No one was looking at the bible.
No no no no no no no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In the end he admitted to opening to the wrong chapter and book, but decided to make it work any way.
No no no no no no no no no no no no no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My friends. We can’t let this this keep happening. My heart hurts, God has a cheat sheet for you! The bible. You don’t need to go around blindly following and finally have your eyes opened. Question people until you get that word that you need.
Open that bible. John is as perfect start – find your answers. And if you get a little footnote at the end of the verse? Follow it, go down that road to understanding the Lord like you’ve never imagined
Keep on testing, keep on getting your answers.
During these end times, the time to follow blindly needs to stop.
Acts 17:11 (NKJV) These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
